To address the struggles of the Somali Community in the Portland metro area, Southwest Somali Community, currently serves the community through a variety of services, children and youth programs, senior programs, health and educational courses and workshops such as refugee parent educational courses, youth empowerment. To allow for the best access, our center is open later in the day from 10-am-7 pm, Monday through Friday. We are located along a main arterial road with public transportation in a region of the city where a large number of Somali and East African residents. Additionally, we are across the street from the Oregon Department of Human Services East Branch.
